Aga Khan Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to postgraduate studies to outstanding students who have no other means of financing their studies. Scholarships are awarded on a 50 per cent grant and 50 per cent loan basis (payback period is five years, starting six months after the study period).

The Aga Khan Foundation gives priority to master's level courses, but considers Ph.D. programmes, when doctoral degrees are necessary for the career objectives of the student.

Belgium Scholarships

Subjects: Agronomy, environmental science, technical metallurgy.

Value: A monthly grant of 675 Euro during one academic year (10 months), and reimbursement of tuition fee.

Better Opportunities for Young Scientists in Chosen Areas of Science and Technology (BOYSCAST) provides opportunities to visit institutions abroad, interact with scientists/technologists there, get exposure to latest research techniques, participate and contribute to the latest developments in specially chosen areas of science and technology.
Duration is up to 12 months.

Areas of study: A wide range of subjects from computational aspects of geometry to molecular mechanics, and from Satellite geophysics to tsunami.

China Scholarship

Value: Scholarship covers expenditure on board and lodging, tuition fees, pocket expenses and passage cost.

Czech Scholarship

Subjects: For Ph.D. in Environment Protection, Mining and Geology and Electronics/Electrical Engineering.

Value: 5500 Czech Crowns per month, accommodation, meal and transport under the same conditions as Czech students, and tuition fees. No airfare.

German Fellowships

Advanced Study/Research for one year. The research stay in Germany is not limited to a single visit.

Value: Maintenance allowance at the rate of DM 1,800 per month, return airfare, university fee, clothing allowance, book allowance, free tuition, boarding lodging plus pocket allowance during the period of the German language course (preceding/studies/research).

Subjects: Mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, bio pharmacology, metallurgy, environmental science, biotechnology, agriculture and forestry, veterinary sciences and animal husbandry and electrical engineering.

Scholarship for Advanced Coaching and Training of outstanding Sportspersons

Duration: six months.
Age: Not more than 25 years.

Eligibility: Only exceptionally meritorious, active sportspersons who have already proved their worth in international competitions and have potential to win better laurels.

The coaching/training programme should be either at a reputed institution or under a well-known coach.

Value: Maintenance allowance up to $7,000 per annum and special diet allowance, actual cost of essential playing equipment not exceeding $350, coaching/training fee, to and fro airfare.
